Zhou Li meets with foreign affairs advisor to Czech President

BEIJING, March. 4 -- Vice-minister Zhou Li of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met on March 4th with Jan Kohout, foreign affairs advisor to President of the Czech Republic and a senior member of the Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD).

Zhou said that the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the Czech Republic this year presents important opportunities for the growth of bilateral relations. The two sides should take this as a new start, continue to improve and develop the bilateral relations and expand practical cooperation in inter-party exchanges and other fields under the new circumstances, said Zhou.

Kohout said that the Czech Republic sets great store by its relations with China and stands ready to take the opportunity of the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic ties and the two presidents' meeting in Sochi in a bid to comprehensively deepen political mutual trust, promote practical cooperation in various fields and raise both the quality and the level of bilateral relations.

The two sides also talked about party-to-party exchanges and other issues of common interest.
