Yu Hongjun meets with delegates attending workshop
for Portuguese-speaking African countries

BEIJING, March 20 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today in Beijing with delegates attending a workshop for young political leaders of Portuguese-speaking African countries.

Yu said that in recent years, the Communist Party of China and political parties of Portuguese-speaking African countries have been supporting each other and deepening exchanges and cooperation, which have positively influenced the growth of state-to-state relations on the basis of traditional friendship enjoyed by China and Africa. He hopes that the workshop can prove to be one more unique and beneficial platform for the development of wider exchanges and stronger friendship among young political leaders of China and Portuguese-speaking African countries, Yu said.

Vanusa Tatiana Fernandes Cardoso, member of the Central Political Commission of the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde and head of the delegation, said on behalf of all delegates that the workshop is a good opportunity for more exchanges not only between China and Africa, but among young political leaders of Portuguese-speaking African countries as well. He also wished the workshop and other mechanisms for exchanges among young leaders of China and African countries sustained development.
