LONDON, March 27 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee led a CPC goodwill delegation to the UK from March 24th to 27th to attend the 7th China-UK Leadership Forum. Focusing on the theme of China-UK 2020 – Partnership for Growth, Prosperity and Reform, Chinese and British delegates conducted in-depth discussions over various topics such as development strategies, medical and social benefits reforms, fiscal and financial policies and China-UK relations. The two sides both believe that the two countries have bright prospects for future cooperation due to strong complementarities and that the way China is deepening its reforms comprehensively will bring new opportunities of cooperation in various fields. It was agreed that China and the UK should make concerted efforts to further grow the bilateral relations.

The China-UK Leadership Forum has been held on a rotating basis in the two countries since 2007 with the purpose of promoting party-to-party exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding of the two sides. Over 20 political leaders from the Conservative Party, the Labor Party and the Liberal Democrats, including Hugo Swire, Minister of State for the Foreign Office, attended the forum this year.
