Zhou Li meets with delegation of Armenian National Assembly

BEIJING, April 23 -- Vice-minister Zhou Li of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met in Beijing on the afternoon of April 23rd with a delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Armenian National Assembly.

Zhou thanked Armenia for its strong support to China over the years on Taiwan question, Xinjiang-related and Tibet-related issues and other issues of China’s core interests. Zhou said that the strategic vision of building up the “Silk Road Economic Belt” proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping offers broad prospects for the deepening of bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields between China and Armenia. The CPC is ready to maintain its close relations with friendly political parties of Armenia, share experience of governing the party and the state and further grow relations between the two countries, said Zhou.

Artak Zakaryan, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Armenian National Assembly, told Zhou that Armenia firmly upholds the “One China” policy, appreciates China’s support to Armenia within the framework of international organizations including the United Nations and is ready to be an active part in building the “Silk Road Economic Belt”. Political parties in Armenia are willing to deepen their exchanges and cooperation with the CPC to make the party-to-party relations a solid bridge that connects the two countries and consolidates the bilateral relations and broad cooperation between Armenia and China, said Zakaryan.
