Wang Jiarui meets with Cambodian Prime Minister

SHANGHAI, May 18 -- On May 18th, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Wang Jiarui met in Shanghai with the Prime Minister of Cambodia and Deputy President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Hun Sen.

Wang met with Hun Sen right after the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Cambodian Prime Minister. Wang said the Chinese side will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, approach and handle the relations with Cambodia from a strategic high and with a long-term perspective, strengthen the sharing of experience in governance between the two governments and the two parties which will help raise the capacity of the parties in running the county on the basis of relentless exploration and objective review.

 

Hun Sen said it is the priority of the government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the CPP to attain development and prosperity of the country. The CPP, as the ruling party of Cambodia, is willing to have thorough exchanges of governance experience with the Communist Party of China and also looks forward to continued support from China to the Cambodian agenda of economic development.

The two sides also exchanged views on the regional situation and other topics of shared interest.
