BEIJING, May 26 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee held talks on May 26th in Beijing with the Tongan government and parliament joint delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga Samiu Vaipulu.
Yu said China values the relations with Tonga and there have been smooth exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various areas. The CPC is willing to step up exchanges with the Tongan side including the Government and the Legislative Assembly and enhance mutual understanding and friendship and promote cooperation.
Vaipulu said Tonga is grateful for China’s long-term support and help and wishes that the two countries will deepen cooperation in areas like agriculture, fishery and tourism.
