BEIJING, June 5 -- On the morning of June the 5th, vice-minister Chen Fengxiang of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met with Yasuo Ogata, vice-chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Japanese Communist Party.

Chen Fengxiang stated China’s principled position on the current China-Japan relations and spoke positively about the Japanese Communist Party which has long been dedicated to facilitating a healthy development of the relations between the two parties and the two countries and promoting a continued peaceful road of development in Japan. He also expressed hope that the two parties should maintain contact and exchanges in different forms, continuously enhance mutual understanding and trust and make greater contribution to the improvement and progress of China-Japan relations.

Ogata said he is willing to create conditions for the improvement of Japan-China relations.
