Wang Jiarui meets with the Malaysian Chinese Association delegation

BEIJING, July 17 -- Vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Wang Jiarui met here today with a delegation of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) led by its secretary-general Ong Ka Chuan.

Wang expressed his shock at the crash of Malaysia Airlines MH17 and sent his deep condolences to the victims as well as sincere sympathy to their families. Wang said that the rapid development of China-Malaysia relations in the past 40 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries cannot be possible without the support of the MCA and the Malaysian Chinese and the MCA’s return to cabinet allows it to do more for the Chinese community in Malaysia. Having maintained friendly exchanges and cooperation, the CPC and the MCA should keep up with the times, deepen their communication and better faciliate the development of the two respective parties and countries.

 

Ong Ka Chuan said that the MCA is ready to strengthen its exchanges with the CPC to take forward the relations between Malaysia and China and between the two peoples.

After the meeting, Wang also witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Exchanges and Cooperation between the CPC and the MCA.
