Chen Fengxiang meets LDP former vice-president

BEIJING, July 23 -- Vice-minister Chen Fengxiang of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met on July 23rd with a delegation headed by former vice-president Taku Yamasaki of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP).  

Chen expressed his views and position on China-Japan relations, stressing that China-Japan friendship is fundamentally about the friendship between the two peoples. The two sides need to further strengthen exchanges between political parties, localities and people so as to promote the improvement and development of China-Japan relations, said Chen.  

On his part, Taku Yamasaki expressed willingness to deepen exchange between the two political parties and promote bilateral practical cooperation in various fields, so as to contribute to increasing mutual understanding and trust and improving relations between the two countries.
