BEIJING, Sept. 26 – Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) led by Gennady Zyuganov, first secretary of the Central Committee of the CPRF.

Wang appreciated the efforts made by Zyuganov and the CPRF over the years in promoting friendly relations between China and Russia. He said that thanks to the attention and strategic guidance of heads of state of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between China and Russia is currently developing with strong momentum. Despite differences in national conditions and development paths, China and Russia need to unite and coordinate with each other to tackle the common or similar challenges they face at home and abroad, said Wang. Wang told Zyuganov that the CPC stands ready to strengthen its exchanges and cooperation with the CPRF to inject new impetus for the growth of bilateral relations.

Zyuganov said that he is pleased to see the rapid changes in China’s construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics during his visit this time on the eve of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The complex and ever changing international landscape calls for further consolidation of the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between China and Russia. China’s experience is very important for the development of Russia and the CPRF is ready to strengthen its exchanges and cooperation with the CPC in youth, women and other fields at both central and local levels in order to promote the development of the bilateral relations, said Zyuganov.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common interest.

Vice-Minister Zhou Li of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee attended the meeting.
