Wang Jiarui holds talks with French Socialist Party delegation

BEIJING, Oct. 29 -- Wang Jiarui, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met with Jean-Christophe Cambadelis, first secretary of the Socialist Party (PS) of France, on Oct. 29th.

Wang said that the China-France relations have been going forward despite differences in political system. As inter-party exchanges constitute an important part of bilateral relations, the CPC and the PS have maintained high-level contacts which have facilitated the timely exchanges of first-hand information.

He added that China is ready to join hands with France in working on issues of common interest.

Wang also briefed the French guests on the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, stressing the significance of promoting the rule of law and the strong determination of the CPC in fighting against corruption.

Cambadelis said that political systems of both countries are stable.

The PS and the CPC both honor the principle of mutual respect and share the same or similar views on a wide range of issues, he said.

He pledged that the PS is willing to step up inter-party contacts with the CPC for stronger mutual understanding and friendship.
