Liu Qibao attends theory seminar in Laos

VIENTIANE, Nov. 1 -- Liu Qibao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, attended the third theory seminar between the CPC and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on experiences in building a socialist country under rule of law here on Saturday.

Liu, also a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said the CPC attaches great importance to rule of law, and the just-concluded fourth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee which adopted a decision to advance rule of law is of great significance.

Liu said China will stick to the policy of upholding the CPC's leadership, respecting the people as the masters of the country and carrying out state governance under rule of law.

China will unswervingly take the socialist road of rule of law with Chinese characteristics and improve the socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics to build a socialist country under rule of law.

China is ready to enhance exchange of experiences in state governance with the Lao side to improve the capacity of the CPC and LPRP as ruling parties, he added.

Bounthong Chitmany, a member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the LPRP Central Committee and secretariat of the LPRP and Government Inspection Authority, said the Laos is willing to see the CPC and LPRP learn from each other to strengthen the building of a socialist country under rule of law.

Liu arrived here on Friday and met with LPRP General Secretary and President of the Laos Choummaly Sayasone the same day.

During the meeting, Liu said China and the Laos are members of a strategic community of common destiny. China is willing to work with the Laos to further promote high-level mutual political trust, win-win economic cooperation and cultural exchange, and continuously enrich and develop the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

Choummaly said the Laos attaches great importance to the relationship with China and is willing to push forward exchange and cooperation between the two parties and countries.
