Wang Jiarui meets with delegation of the Democratic Party of Thailand

BEIJING, Nov. 17 -- On November 17th, Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met in Beijing with Abhisit, Vejjajiva, chairman of the Democratic Party and former prime minister of Thailand.  

Wang said that “China and Thailand are like one family”. Friendly relationship is not only the consensus of top leaders of the two countries, but also enjoys solid social foundation of public opinion. The CPC has always maintained friendly ties with the Democratic Party, with close dialogue and cooperation between the two parties on the sharing of governance experiences. He stated the willingness of the CPC and the Chinese government to make the best use of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year to deepen bilateral exchanges and coordination, promote practical cooperation and jointly facilitate the development of interconnectivities.

 

Abhisit said that friendship with China is the consensus of various Thai sectors. He said that he had discovered many more changes in China since his visit last time. He expressed his admiration for the vision of the Chinese leadership in leading the efforts of national development and for the tremendous achievements. He stated that his party was willing to strengthen interactions with the CPC to promote bilateral practical cooperation so as to bring tangible benefit to the two peoples.
