BERLIN, Nov. 29 -- Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and President of the Council of the China Center for Contemporary World Studies (CCCWS) Guo Yezhou led a CPC goodwill delegation on a visit to Germany from November 27th to 29th. During his visit, Guo met with Vice-Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel, Chairman of the Alliance '90/The Greens Cem Özdemir and Chairman of the Left Party Bernd Riexinger, respectively. The delegation also held thematic talks with representatives of major political parties of the German Chinese Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Bundestag. Guo made a keynote speech in the Mercator Institute for China Studies of Stiftung Mercator and held talks with Chairman Volker Perthes of the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP). Guo briefed German friends about the major outcomes of the fourth plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee and exchanged views with them on international situation, China-Germany relations and party-to-party exchanges, in particular. Li Xiaosi, charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Germany attended the above activities.
