BEIJING, Dec. 2 -- Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd.

Briefing Rudd on China's just concluded Central Foreign Affairs Meeting, Wang said that the meeting, an important one of understanding China's current external work, gave a full analysis of the changes in international situation and China's external environment and made clear the strategic objectives and major tasks of China's foreign affairs under the new circumstances.

The two sides exchanged in-depth views on Asia Pacific situation and other issues.
