BEIJING, Dec. 16 -- Vice minister Li Jinjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today here with Dr. Stephen Steinlein, state secretary of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office. Germany’s ambassador to China Michael Clauss also attended the meeting.

Li said that the China-Germany relationship at present is at its apex in history. The Chinese side is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with major political parties of Germany, which is the important foundation of political ties between the two countries, with a view to taking the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Germany to a higher level, said Li.

Steinlein said that Germany has always been viewing its relations with China strategically, and expressed willingness to work with China and jointly shape the international order of the 21st Century in the context of globalization.
