BEIJING, Jan. 7 -- Vice minister Zhou Li of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today with Winston Lakin, minister of foreign affairs of Suriname. Zhou briefed the minister on the 4th Plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee, and expressed the willingness of the CPC to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the National Democratic Party (NDP) of Suriname, with a view to promoting progress in China-Suriname relations.

Lakin said that President Bouterse of Suriname, who also serves as the Chairman of the NDP, attaches great importance to growing party-to-party ties with the CPC for the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
