Wang Jiarui meets Indian Foreign Minister

BEIJING, Feb. 1 -- Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with India's Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj.

Wang said that China and India enjoy similar national conditions and are both faced with the important tasks of developing economy and improving livelihood. The exchange of governance experience between the ruling parties of the two countries is good for the party building and national development of the two sides. Inter-party exchange serves as a bridge for communication in the development of overall state-to-state relations. The CPC is willing to further strengthen and expand institutionalized exchange with the Indian side and fully tap the potential for economic and trade cooperation so as to promote the development of China-India relations, said Wang.

Swaraj spoke positively of the important role inter-political party exchange plays in deepening China-India relations, saying that the Indian side is willing to further exchanges and cooperation with China on the fronts of inter-party exchange, youth communication, media, economic and trade cooperation, and cooperation between local governments, so as to jointly promote the development of the overall state-to-state relations.
