Xu Lyuping meets with new ambassador of New Zealand

BEIJING, Feb. 2 -- Vice minister Xu Lyuping of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today here with John McKinnon, New Zealand’s new ambassador to China.

Xu welcomed McKinnon’s assumption of the post in China, and spoke positively on the achievements of bilateral relations in various areas. She expressed willingness of the CPC to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with political parties of New Zealand, and work together with them to promote lasting, stable, and sound development of ties between the two countries.

McKinnon spoke positively on state-to-state and party-to-party ties between China and New Zealand, saying that he is committed to work on the political, economic and knowledge fronts for greater progress in New Zealand-China relations.
