 ( 2015.02.03 )

BEIJING, Feb. 3 -- On February 3rd, Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met in Beijing with Secretary-General Mantashe of the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa.

Wang said that friendly relations between the CPC and the ANC have been reflected in different historical periods with political guidance by the highest leaders of the two parties on various occasions. The two parties' strengthening of communications on the rapid changes of the international arena is an important part of their exchanges. Wang expressed the willingness of the Chinese side to take a long-term view, implement consensus of the highest leaders of the two parties, and enhance exchanges on ideology and governance philosophy to promote better development of relations between the two parties and two countries.

Mantashe said that the ANC and the CPC have many commonalities: the two parties have similar ideologies, long-running friendship, and both are ruling parties. Although the ANC is 9 years "older" than the CPC , it has been a ruling party for only 21 years, much shorter than the history of the CPC as a ruling party. The ANC faces many challenges due to the lack of governance experience. Mantashe said that the ANC cherishes its exchanges with the CPC and is willing to take reference from Chinese experience in party building, anti-corruption, and education of party cadres.
