BEIJING, March 17 -- Zhou Li, vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today with Ali Gasanov, aide to President of Azerbaijan and a member of the leading staff of the New Azerbaijan Party.

Zhou spoke positively about the economic and social progress of Azerbaijan in recent years and the sound momentum of China-Azerbaijan relations. He said that communication between ruling parties of the two countries not only promotes state-to-state relations but also enhances people-to-people friendship. The Communist Party of China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the New Azerbaijan Party.

Gasanov said that President Ilham Aliyef sets great store by the relationship with China and hopes to expand cooperation in all aspects. The New Azerbaijan Party admires the governance achievement of the CPC and is willing to learn from relevant experience.
