Xu Lyuping meets with Delegation of the Australian Labor Party

BEIJING, March 30 -- Vice-minister Xu Lyuping of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee held talks here today with the delegation of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) headed by Hon. Bill Shorten MP, leader of the ALP.

Xu said that the Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Australia in November 2014. The China-Australia relationship is standing at a new historic starting point. The Communist Party of China, ready to carry out exchanges with the ALP more frequently, will strengthen political mutual trust and promote pragmatic cooperation so as to accelerate the China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Shorten said that the ALP, which sets great store by its long-term friendship with the CPC, is willing to enhance party-to-party dialogue and expand areas of cooperation so as to bring Australia-China relations to a new high.
