Party-to-party exchanges make positive contributions to the development of bilateral relations. Spain is China's important partner in Europe. Since the two countries established comprehensive strategic partnership in 2005, exchanges and cooperation have grown rapidly in all areas. Li hoped the two sides will make joint efforts to further tap potential and raise bilateral relations to a new level.

Valencia thanked the International Department for supporting the work of the Spanish embassy in China. He said that visits by high level officials of major Spanish political parties to China last year have strongly improved the relations between the two countries. Spain has a special friendly relationship with China and the two sides should further strengthen cooperation and promote common development.
