Li Yuanchao meets Sudanese counterpart

BEIJING, May 30 -- Chinese vice president Li Yuanchao met with visiting Sudanese vice president Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman on Friday.

Li reviewed the growth of China-Sudan relations since the two countries forged diplomatic ties in 1959, saying they always trust and support each other.

He said China will take a strategic and long-term perspective of China-Sudan relations and would like to deepen and expand cooperation with Sudan in all fields.

The Communist Party of China would like to increase exchanges of high-level visits with Sudan's National Congress and share experience on state governance so as to deepen growth of bilateral relations, according to Li.

Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, also one of the leaders of Sudan's National Congress, reviewed the two countries' friendship and pledged to seek better relations between the two countries and the two parties.  

He is leading a delegation for a week-long China visit.
