SHANGHAI, Dec. 8 -- Vice-minister Li Jinjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with the visiting Crown Prince of Tonga, Tupouto' a' Ulukalala.

Li briefed the Crown Prince on China's history, culture and economic and social development and said that the Chinese side values its relations with Tonga and stands ready to further strengthen the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries and promote a strategic partnership featuring mutual respect and common development.

Ulukalala said that Tonga sets great store by its friendship with China and that the royal family of Tonga will continue to push forward healthy and stable development of Tonga-China relations.
