Guo Yezhou Meets with the 8th Political Leaders Delegation of the Pacific Island Countries

Beijing, July 18th—Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with the 8th Political Leaders Delegation of the Pacific Island Countries headed by Esmond Moses, Vice Speaker of the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia.

Guo expressed that the Chinese side is willing to further implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and leaders of the Pacific Island countries, constantly increase political mutual trust through party-to-party exchange channels, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and deepen friendship between people of both sides, so as to promote the strategic partnership featuring mutual respect and common development for constant, in-depth and practical development.

Moses and others expressed that the Pacific Island countries attach great importance to their relations with China and to party-to-party exchanges, and extended heartfelt gratitude to China for its important role in promoting the sustainable development of the economic and social development of the Pacific Island countries. They noted that they will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy to promote the relations between the Pacific Island countries and China for greater development.
