Dar-es-Salaam, July 17th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Augustine Philip Mahiga, Foreign Minister of Tanzania.

Song said that China and Tanzania enjoy a profound and firm traditional friendship, and always understand and support each other on issues concerning respective core interests and major concerns. China will uphold the concept of policy towards Africa featuring sincerity, real results, affinity, and good faith and the values of friendship, justice and shared interests. China will, together with Tanzania, deepen cooperation in various fields and strengthen communication and coordination in international affairs under the frameworks of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to push China-Tanzania relations for constant and forward-looking development.

Mahiga expressed that Tanzania-China friendship enjoys a time-honored history and becomes even firmer as time goes by. The Tanzanian side thanks China for its strong support for Tanzania, and is willing to intensify coordination and cooperation in international affairs with the Chinese side, in a bid to further deepen the friendly and cooperative relations with China.
