On July 16th, John Pombe Joseph Magufuli, President of Tanzania, met at the presidential office with Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Song expressed that created by the older generation of leaders of the two countries, the traditional friendship between China and Tanzania deserves to be cherished and meticulously passed down. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and learn from each other. The Chinese side will uphold the concept of policy towards Africa featuring sincerity, real results, affinity, and good faith put forward by President Xi Jinping to push China-Tanzania relations to new stages.

Magufuli asked Song to convey his greetings to President Xi Jinping, and expressed that Tanzania-China relations are of important significance. The CPC is a real and good friend of the CCM. The Tanzanian side will continue to commit to carrying forward and passing down the Tanzania-China traditional friendship, in a bid to push relations between both countries for constant and forward-looking development.
