At the invitation of the Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yajun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, led a CPC delegation to visit Iceland from July 31st to August 2nd, during which Wang met with Bjarni Benediktsson, Chairman of the Independence Party and Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Olafur Grimsson, former Icelandic President, and Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Icelandic Parliament. Wang exchanged in-depth views with various main political parties in Iceland, and introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the Chinese side's implementation of the spirit of the 19th National Congress to people from various sectors.
