Song Tao Meets with Non-partisan Delegation of Young Japanese Politicians

Beijing August 20th--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with a non-partisan delegation of young Japanese politicians led by Kiyohiko Toyama, a member of Central Secretariat and Chair of International Affairs Committee of the New Komeito Party of Japan.

Song expressed that China and Japan, as important neighbors to each other, are both major economies of the world. China-Japan relations have enjoyed healthy and stable development, which conforms to the interests of the two countries and the two peoples and relates to regional and world peace, stability and development. Recently, under the joint efforts of Chinese and Japanese people with insight of all circles, China-Japan relations have returned to the track of normal development gradually. The improvement and development of China-Japan relations cannot be realized without right guidance and active participation of political parties and politicians of the two countries. The CPC stands ready to, together with all main political parties and people from all walks of life in Japan, continue to give full play to the unique political leading role of inter-party relations for China-Japan relations, and propel bilateral and multilateral cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative with new ideas, in a bid to inject new impetus into the development of China-Japan relations.

Kiyohiko Toyama noted that the Japanese side pays high attention to developing relations with China, and earnestly looks forward to the continued improvement of Japan-China relations. The exchange between political parties of the two countries plays an important leading role for bilateral relations. The Japanese political parties hope to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, continue to well host meetings of Japan-China Ruling Party Exchange Mechanism, and steadily promote the construction of international demonstration zone for the cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
