Beijing, September 2nd--Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti and President of the People's Rally for Progress (RPP) who was in China for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, met here today with Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC).

Song expressed that though China and Djibouti are geographically far apart, the two countries are good friends enjoying mutual trust. President Xi Jinping and President Guelleh have met for many times, charting the course for the development of China-Djibouti relations. The CPC and the RPP have maintained friendly exchanges for a long time, which played an important role in increasing political mutual trust between the two countries and facilitating mutually beneficial cooperation. Under the background that China and Africa as well as China and Djibouti commit to building an even stronger community with a shared future, it is necessary for the two ruling parties to further elevate friendly relations, carry out in-depth exchanges and mutual learning on building a strong ruling party and improving respective ruling ability and proficiency, and boost cooperation in various fields through party-to-party relations, so as to better play the political guiding role in bilateral relations.

Guelleh said that he highly values the relations between the two ruling parties, and believes that it is not only conducive to respective party building, but also beneficial to bilateral political mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. Exchanges with the CPC made him further realize that China’s current glorious development cannot be achieved without the CPC’s strong leadership and advanced ideas. They hope to further enhance exchanges with the CPC, and learn the CPC’s rich experience in party governance and state administration, so as to develop the RPP from a big party to a strong party, explore its own national development pattern, and achieve national development and people’s well-being.

Xu Lyuping, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, attended the meeting.
