Beijing, September 3rd--Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, President of Mauritania, who was in China for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, visited here today the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), and met with Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC.

Song expressed that though separated by mountains and rivers, China and Mauritania are good friends and good partners. President Xi Jinping and President Aziz held fruitful talks yesterday, and reached important consensus on bilateral cooperation in various fields, charting the course for the further development of bilateral relations. The relations between the two ruling parties of China and Mauritania are an important component of the relations between the two countries. Since the establishment of party-to-party relations, bilateral exchanges and contacts have maintained close, which played an important guiding role in increasing political mutual trust and facilitating mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields between the two countries. We are willing to, together with the Mauritanian Union Progressive (UPM), further well implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state on enhancing exchanges between ruling parties, deepen experience exchanges on party governance and state administration, and promote practical cooperation in various fields and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to consolidate the political and public opinion foundation of China-Mauritania friendship.

Aziz said that he exchanged extensive and in-depth views with President Xi Jinping on bilateral and international issues, reaching satisfying consensus. The CPC has adhered to advanced governance philosophy, safeguarded multilateralism, as well as understood and supported the vast number of developing countries in exploring an independent development path, which exerted an important positive influence on the peace, stability and prosperity of today’s world, winning extensive respect and trust of the international community. The UPM hopes to comprehensively deepen its relations with the CPC, learn the CPC’s rich ruling experience, and further promote cooperation between the two countries as well as friendship between the two peoples through strong party-to-party relations.
