President of Togo Meets with Song Tao

Beijing, September 5th—Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, President of Togo, who was in China for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), visited the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and met here today with Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC.

Song expressed that China and Togo are good friends and good partners enjoying mutual trust. The cause of friendship between China and Togo is forged and cultivated by the elder generations of leaders of the two countries, and has been growing with new vitality under the personal promotion of President Xi Jinping and President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé. The CPC attaches importance to developing relations with the Union for the Republic, and hopes to further enhance high-level exchanges, deepen exchanges of experience in party governance and state administration, propel practical cooperation in various fields, and jointly build a new type of political party relations that pursuits common ground while reserving differences, mutual respect and mutual learning under the framework of the community with a shared future between China and Africa, in a bid to benefit the two peoples.

Faure noted that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, the FOCAC Beijing Summit had a successful conclusion, elevating historic Africa-China friendly cooperation achieved at the Johannesburg Summit to a new level and leading the transformation of the community with a shared future between Africa and China from a vision to reality. Togo cherishes its friendly relations with China, admires the CPC’s governance achievements and capacity, and hopes to learn from the CPC in extensive fields such as the enhancement of party building, increase of job opportunities and poverty alleviation, in a bid to achieve common development.
