Song Tao Meets with NLD Cadre Study Group of Myanmar

Beijing, September 17th--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a cadre study group of the National League for Democracy (NLD) of Myanmar led by Zaw Myint Maung, Second Vice Chairman of the NLD and Chief Minister of Mandalay.

Song expressed that President Xi Jinping has held successful meetings with State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi for many times, reaching important consensus for the constant and forward-looking development of China-Myanmar relations and the relations between the CPC and the NLD. The CPC is willing to, together with the NLD, earnestly and well implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both sides, firmly and well grasp the general trend of the development of China-Myanmar relations as well as continuously strengthen the friendly exchanges and cooperation at various levels and on all fronts between the two Parties, so as to jointly push for the constant, healthy and stable development of China-Myanmar relations.

Song congratulated on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the NLD and exchanged views with Zaw Myint Maung on the construction of China-Myanmar economic corridor.

Zaw Myint Maung spoke positively of the friendly relations between Myanmar and China and thanked China for offering precious support to Myanmar. The NLD attaches importance to studying and learning the successful experience of party governance and state administration from the CPC, and stands ready to continue to deepen the existing friendly exchanges and cooperation relations with the CPC.
