The 3rd Theory Seminar Between the CPC and the PCC Held in Beijing

Beijing, September 17th—The 3rd Theory Seminar between the CPC and the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) was held here today. Themed with “Reform, Development and Party Building”, the seminar was sponsored by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC). Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and Head of the Department of International Relations of the PCC Central Committee, delivered a speech.

Song expressed that under the personal care and great promotion of General Secretary Xi Jinping and First Secretary Raúl Castro, a brand new multilevel situation in broad areas for exchanges between the two Parties has been fostered. This year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up. The cause of socialist construction of China and Cuba is in a new stage of inheriting the past and ushering in the future. The theme of this seminar is in line with the realistic challenges and development tasks facing both sides. Reform and opening up is the key to determine the destiny of contemporary China. It is also the only way to achieve the two centenary goals and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Song emphasized that the CPC is willing to strengthen in-depth exchanges with the PCC, learn from each other, and constantly promote the building of their respective Parties and countries, so as to jointly elevate the relations between the two Parties and the two countries to new highs.

Before the seminar, Song met with the PCC delegation headed by Balaguer.

Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, attended the above activities.
