Beijing, September 17th—Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met today on the afternoon at request with Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester of the UK.

Speaking positively of China-UK relations, Guo expressed that the Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the UK side to advance strategic alignment of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the UK’s Northern PowerHouse, deepen sub-national practical cooperation and promote the development of national relations.

Burnham noted that Greater Manchester stands ready to make full use of converging points of interests of both sides’ development strategies, and promote cooperation between Greater Manchester and China to new stages.
