 ( 2018.10.10 )

Beijing, October 10th—Huang Kunming, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of the People's Movement for Progress (MPP) of Burkina Faso. The delegation was headed by Simon Compaoré, MPP Acting President.

Huang said that during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, President Xi Jinping and President Roch Marc Christian Kabore held the first meeting after the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries and reached important consensus, which charted the course for the development of China-Burkina Faso relations. On the basis of the one-China principle, the Chinese side is willing to, together with the Burkina Faso side, build a new type of political party relationship that seeks common ground while reserving differences as well as pursues mutual respect and mutual learning, so as to lead relations between China and Burkina Faso to move forward better and faster in a solid manner.

Compaoré expressed that the resumption of diplomatic relations between both countries conforms to the historical trend. The Burkina Faso side hopes to further strengthen the relations between the two Parties, promote cooperation in various fields, and advance the in-depth development of relations between both countries and Africa-China relations.
