Islamabad, October 14th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General of Pakistan.

Song expressed that China and Pakistan are good neighbors, good friends and good brothers sharing weal and woe and treating each other sincerely. The unbreakable friendship between the two countries has withstood the test of international vicissitudes, enjoying constant and forward-looking development. The Pakistani military firmly supports China-Pakistan friendship and the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and makes positive contributions to promoting China-Pakistan relations and cooperation in various fields. It is expected that the Pakistani military will continue to play a constructive role for the common interests and development of the two countries. Song also briefly introduced relevant situation of exchanges between political parties of the two countries.

Speaking positively of the important role of exchanges between the political parties of the two countries in Pakistan-China relations, Zubair noted that Pakistan always considers developing its relations with China as a top priority of its diplomacy, and supports each other on issues involving respective core interests. Firmly adhering to the Pakistan-China friendship, the Pakistani military will continue to take effective measures to ensure the smooth progress of the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
