Song Tao Meets with Member of ANC National Executive Committee of South Africa

Beijing, October 18th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Lindiwe Zulu, Member of the National Executive Committee and President of the Council on International Relations of the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa.

Speaking positively of the party-to-party relations between China and South Africa and the relations between the two countries, Song appreciated that the ANC has actively committed to strengthening BRICS+ political parties dialogue and cooperation. Song expressed that political parties are a source of policies. The CPC is willing to, together with the ANC, further strengthen friendly exchanges and in-depth cooperation in various areas including high-level exchanges, strategic communication, exchanges of experience in state governance and administration and multilateral cooperation between political parties, in a bid to jointly lead the constant and look-forwarding development of China-South Africa relations.

Zulu noted that the ANC cherishes its friendly relations with the CPC, and stands ready to strengthen all-round exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties to constantly inject new impetus into the development of China-South Africa relations. The South African side speaks highly of the success of the first BRICS+ Political Parties Dialogue held in Fuzhou in 2017, and stands ready to, together with the Chinese side, strengthen communication and cooperation to jointly promote the institutionalized development of BRICS+ Political Parties Dialogue.

Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting.
