Beijing, October 25th—Li Jun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with the delegation led by Kawamura Takeo President of Japan-China Friendship Culture Exchange Promotion Association and former Chief Cabinet Secretary.

Li appreciated Kawamura and other delegates’ contributions to the development of exchanges between Chinese and Japanese ruling parties and friendships between the two countries. He expressed that China is willing to work with Japan to, bearing in mind the spirit of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship, implement the major consensus reached by leaders of the two countries and promote China-Japan relations for continuous improvement and forward-looking development.

Kawamura spoke positively of the important role of the exchange mechanism between Japanese and Chinese ruling parties in the development of relations between the two countries. He expressed the willingness to make more efforts in the future to deepen communication between the ruling parties of the two countries and enhance people-to-people friendship.
