Song Tao Meets with Commander-in-chief of Myanmar Armed Forces

Nay Pyi Taw, November 7th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces.

Song expressed that at present, China-Myanmar relations enjoy healthy and stable development. China appreciates the contributions made by the Myanmar Armed Forces, and is willing to enhance communication and cooperation with the Myanmar Armed Forces to promote the peace process as well as economic and social development of Myanmar, and well maintain the security, stability and prosperity of the border areas between two countries.

Min Aung Hlaing thanks China for playing a positive role in safeguarding peace and stability of the northern region of Myanmar, and stands ready to, together with China, constantly increase traditional friendship between the two countries, and deepen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, in a bid to promote the continuous development of Myanmar-China relations.
