Beijing, November 19th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a multi-party delegation of Turkmenistan led by Ata Serdarov, leader of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan.

Song expressed that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 26 years ago, relationship between the two countries has always maintained positive and sound momentum, with fruitful achievements from cooperation in various areas. The Chinese side is willing to, together with Turkmen side, well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and strengthen bilateral cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, in a bid to bring more benefits to the people of the two countries. Song said that the CPC is willing to continuously reinforce friendly exchanges in various fields and at all levels with major political parties of Turkmenistan, including the Democratic Party, and deepen mutual learning between the two countries, so as to jointly consolidate the political and public foundation of the development of China-Turkmenistan relations.

Serdarov stated that the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and China have a long history, and the political parties between the two countries have all along maintained friendly exchanges. The Turkmen side spoke highly of the extraordinary achievements China has made under the leadership of the CPC, and expressed that the major political parties of Turkmenistan, including the Democratic Party, is willing to study and learn from the successful experience of the CPC in an in-depth way, and further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between political parties of the two countries, so as to constantly make new contributions to the development of Turkmenistan-China relations.
