Song Tao Meets with First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament and His Delegation

Hangzhou, November 22nd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today at noon with a delegation headed by Mahmoud El-Sharif, First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament, who was in China for the 2nd China-Arab Political Parties Dialogue.

Song expressed that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, China-Egypt relations continuously embrace new development opportunities, with constantly deepened cooperation in various areas including politics, economy, trade and people-to-people and cultural engagement. The CPC is willing to work with Egypt to actively promote the implementation of the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various areas under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, in a bid to promote the in-depth development of China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership. Combining the CPC’s achievements and experience in leading the reform and opening up over the past 40 years, Song also introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

El-Sharif noted that Egypt attaches great importance to developing its relations with China, firmly supports the Belt and Road Initiative, and stands ready to strengthen cooperation with China in various areas including economy, trade, industry as well as science and technology and constantly elevate the relations between the two countries, in a bid to benefit the two peoples and contribute to world peace and development.
