Hangzhou, November 22nd--The 2nd China-Arab Political Parties Dialogue organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee was held here. The Dialogue was attended by nearly 200 Chinese and foreign representatives including over 60 main political party leaders from 17 Arab countries and delegates from the Party history and literature research institute of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and other units of the central government.

Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech titled working together to create China-Arab community of shared future, and promoting building of a better world. Song expressed that President Xi Jinping announced to establish China-Arab strategic partnership featuring comprehensive cooperation, common development and future-orientation at the 8th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum this July, opening a new historical chapter for China-Arab relations. We held the 2nd China-Arab Political Parties Dialogue to promote China-Arab relations to achieve this goal through deepening exchanges and cooperation between political parties. The political parties of China and Arab countries should increase strategic mutual trust and safeguard fairness and justice; enhance exchanges on concepts and lead reform as well as development; boost people-to-people connectivity and cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative; push forward inclusiveness and mutual learning and become pioneers in exchanges between civilizations. The CPC is willing to constantly deepen exchanges and cooperation with political parties of Arab countries, strive to build a new type of political party relations, and make greater contributions to the building of China-Arab community of shared future, promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and building a better world in joint efforts.

Li Jun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, chaired the Dialogue. Huang Jianfa, Member of the Standing Committee and Minister of Organization Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, addressed the opening ceremony. Mahmoud El-Sharif, First Deputy Speaker of Egypt, and Mahmoud Aloul, Vice Chairman of Fatah of Palestine, noted in their speeches that Arab countries should learn from the CPC in party governance and state administration. The political parties from Arab countries are willing to enhance friendly exchanges with the CPC, actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and elevate Arab-China relations and bilateral practical cooperation to a new level.

Under the theme of Working to Build a Better World, Chinese and foreign representatives conducted in-depth discussion on such topics as reform and opening up: path choosing and mutual learning concepts, and the Belt and Road Initiative: people-to-people connectivity and converging interests, reaching extensive consensus. The 2018 Hangzhou Declaration of China-Arab Political Parties Dialogue was also adopted.
