Hangzhou, November 23rd--The special briefing session: Stories of CPC: Zhejiang’s Achievements in Practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which was co-organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, was held here. The special briefing session, themed with promoting high-quality development, briefed foreign political parties on the concept of high-quality development in Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Zhejiang’s concrete practice and successful experience in this regard.

Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC, expressed in his speech that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is a guiding thought to which the CPC must persistently adhere, and promoting high-quality development is the inevitable requirement to maintain sustainable and sound economic development. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, so has China’s economic development, of which the essential feature is the transition from a rapid growth phase to a high-quality development stage. That how to achieve the development with higher quality has become a major task urgently needs to be solved worldwide. Song proposed that all political parties of various countries should firmly seize the people-centered development demand and avoid the deviation of development from right direction; give full play to the guiding role of ideas, build social consensus, and advance the formation of policy and mobilize the participation of various parties, so as to provide ideas for guiding high-quality development; comprehensively improve self-capacity to earnestly shoulder the significant responsibility of leading Party members and the public to achieve grand blueprints and propel national development; and vigorously strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, and make respective contributions to promoting common development of various countries, building the community with a shared future for mankind, and building a more beautiful world.

Che Jun, Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, expressed in his speech that Zhejiang is a pioneer of China’s reform and opening up and an important place of the origin of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The eight-eight strategy drew and implemented by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his working period in Zhejiang is a “golden key” to open the door of high-quality development. In the practice of the eight-eighth strategy, Zhejiang adheres to the reform of our people can get things done in one office, without the need for a second trip to encourage reform in all aspects, providing the best institutional supply for high-quality development; Zhejiang participates in the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality, and promotes high-level and all-round opening up; Zhejiang deepens the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, and makes overall plans for the cultivation of emerging industries and the upgrading of traditional industries; Zhejiang further opens the channel for the transformation of the concept of clear waters and lush mountains are as valuable as gold and silver to vigorously develop ecological economy. Zhejiang will study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in a deep-going way, promote further in-depth implementation of the eight-eight strategy and further deepening of reform and opening up, and make high-quality development more profound and practical.

Mahmoud El-Sharif, First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament, Arshad Daad, Secretary-General of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and Peter Goodfellow, President of the New Zealand National Party delivered speeches respectively. They expressed that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China has achieved tremendous development achievements and entered a new phase of reform and development which provides the world with China Solution. They stand ready to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and strive for the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
