Song Tao Meets with SLPP Cadre Study Group

Beijing, November 29th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a cadre study group of the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) headed by Umaru Koroma, Secretary-General of the SLPP.

Song expressed that no matter how international landscape changes, the relations between China and Sierra Leone have maintained stable development since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations 47 years ago. China appreciates Sierra Leone for providing long-term and firm support for China on issues concerning China’s core interests. As a ruling party like the SLPP, the CPC is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation in various areas between the two Parties, and strive to guide further and forward-looking development of China-Sierra Leone relations with practical outcomes from cooperation between the two Parties.

Koroma noted that Sierra Leone cherishes its traditional friendship with China, and thanks China’s long-term and sincere assistance to Sierra Leone. The SLPP attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with the CPC, and stands ready to take this visit as an opportunity to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties to write a new chapter, and further consolidate the foundation for the development of Sierra Leone-China relations.
