Song Tao Meets with Turkish AKP Delegation

Beijing, December 17th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with the delegation of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) of Turkey led by Cevdet Yilmaz, Deputy Chairman of the AKP.

Speaking positively of Yilmaz’s visit to China after being elected Deputy Chairman in charge of international cooperation not long ago, Song believed that it fully reflects the high importance attached by the AKP of Turkey to the development of relations between the two Parties. Song said that President Xi Jinping and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have held several successful meetings in recent years, which have mapped out the direction of China-Turkey relations and promoted bilateral relations to a new height. The CPC attaches importance to strengthening friendly exchanges with the AKP and is willing to jointly well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and strive to promote both countries to achieve tangible new outcomes in high-level exchanges, personnel exchanges, economic and trade cooperation and practical cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) through achievements of communication and cooperation between the two ruling parties.

Speaking highly of the historic achievements made by the CPC in leading China in the cause of reform and opening up, Yilmaz expressed that as the ruling party, the AKP is willing to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen exchanges with the CPC in various fields, deepen practical cooperation between the two countries under the framework of the BRI and jointly promote the continued and comprehensive development of Turkey-China relations.
