CPP President and Prime Minister of Cambodia Meets with Song Tao

Beijing, January 21st--Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and Prime Minister of Cambodia, who was visiting China, met here today with Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC).

Song said that President Hun Sen's special meeting with me under the very tight schedule of your visit to China fully demonstrates the importance Your Excellency has attached to the relations between the two Parties. President Hun Sen is an old friend and good friend of the Chinese people. The Chinese side supports the CPP in following a development path suited to its national conditions and is ready to push forward bilateral relations for new development. The CPC attaches great importance to friendly relations with the CPP and stands ready to work with the Cambodian side to deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties and well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two Parties and the two countries.

Hun Sen said that the CPP has always maintained close ties with the CPC, and the IDCPC has played an important role as a bridge in this regard. It is hoped that the two Parties will continue to deepen communication and exchanges, conduct discussions on experience in state governance and administration, promote the synergy between Cambodia’s Rectangular Strategy and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and make contributions to bilateral cooperation in various fields and their respective domestic development.
