Beijing, February 28th—Li Jun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with a delegation led by Mahmoud El-Sharif, First deputy speaker of the Egyptian Parliament.

Li spoke highly of China-Egypt relations. Combining with the CPC’s ruling experience and achievements over the past 70 years, Li introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era and China’s ethnic and religious policies. He noted that the CPC is willing to actively promote the implementation of the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on developing bilateral relations, and advance and deepen the cooperation in various fields within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, in a bid to promote the development of China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership for in-depth development.

Sherif said that the Egyptian side appreciates the Chinese side's efforts in promoting reform and development, promoting national unity and maintaining social stability, and is ready to further align the strategies of the two countries. It is hoped that China will increase investment in Egypt, actively participate in Egypt’s industrialization process and push bilateral relations to a new level.
