Song Tao Meets with PTI Cadre Study Group

Beijing, March 18th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a cadre study group of the Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI). The group was headed by Qasim Khan Suri, Member of the PTI Central Core Committee and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

Song made positive comments on China-Pakistan relations and welcomed Qasim's visit to China with a PTI cadre study group. Song said that President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Imran Khan reached important consensus on developing China-Pakistan relations under the new situation in November 2018. As the ruling parties of both countries, the CPC is ready to work with the PTI to earnestly implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, further play a political leading role in the development of China-Pakistan relations through deepening party-to-party exchanges, and build more consensus for the cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative between the two countries, which is marked by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Qasim said that Pakistan and China are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and Pakistan always attaches great importance to developing bilateral friendly relations. The PTI is willing to study and learn from the successful governance experience of the CPC in an in-depth manner, constantly strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties in various fields, and jointly make new contributions to the development of Pakistan-China relations and the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in such fields as the Belt and Road Initiative.

Kasim was in China for the first meeting of the political party consultation mechanism under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
